Halloween Shindig Details
Okay gang, I'm back. Back in the US of A. Who is ready to party? Come one come all...please see October 18th's post about my hallowed Halloween Bash. Simply put, if you read my blog, you are invited. By Mae and Angeline's request, costumes ARE mandatory. That is, of course, if you understand that this is not a high-school kegger. Bring a friend/lover/chapparone or two, no more, no less. If you need my phone # to prevent getting lost, please email me at don@itsmegatime.com. Otherwise, see you anytime after 7.

at 10/25/2002 1:12:15 AM- We should arrive sometime around 8-30. We are bringing Scary Cakes with Scream Filling, White Russians for the group, and Champers for me. Matt, who does not drink alcohol, will have soda. We will be in costume. So when I walk in the door, I don't want to hear any jackass comments like, "Mae, I thought you said you were going to wear a costume." It IS a costume, I don't dress like that in my everyday life OR my private life. Well not to THAT extreme anyway! ANd neither does Matt, so don't get any ideas! Phht! It's make believe. Silly silly silly fun. Don, I am really saddened this won't be a high school kegger, as I have never attended a kegger and was hoping someone would moon me or give me nuggies or whatever it is that goes on at keggers. Glad to see you are back in the country and safe. We will see you at your party. Are you scared yet?

at 10/25/2002 1:19:43 AM- Don, I want your number, not for party details, just to call you and so I can scam on some of that European vibe you've got goin on. It's tres sexeee, babeee. Damn, how come none of you are awake at 1am when I am? I am wide awake and really hungry. I think someone needs to come over here and take me to Uncle Bill's for some chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. Those items are not on my diet. But you wouldn't tell anyone, would you? Sigh.. fine, I will go to bed now and stare at Matt as he sleeps and hope he wakes up and entertains me. This isn't going to happen, as MAtt sleeps like a rock. Rocks are hard sleepers. Hard as rocks. ACK! I'm so bored, I'm going insane. Going? You're already there. Is it time to party yet?

at 10/25/2002 8:30:44 AM- To those that I've met already, I don't think there will be a ferret sighting at tonight's soiree.
Two reasons:
First we had stuff come up that prevented us from going costume shopping. We were going to try to go today, but last minute costumes are difficult at best. Second, I have never met the host and don't know anything about him. I don't even know his blog address. Since it said if you read it, you're invited, that leaves me out. Plus, I would be a bit uncomfortable showing up to party at the home of someone I've never met. We haven't even been introduced, we're total strangers.
So have fun tonight, and I'll catch up with the gang at AP on Wednesday. I'll probably be offline the rest of the day, so I'll read all about the party tomorrow.

at 10/25/2002 10:58:38 AM- Pissed, no. Sad I won't be seeing some of my fav bloggers tonight, yes. I am still very excited about tonight! I am so pleased that Don is gracious enough to throw a party the day after returning from Europe. I still cannot believe Don was willing to do this for us, and open the party up to people he barely knows. When Don says that you can bring a friend, he meant it. So Freddy Ferret, as my friend, and as someone who knows how to behave himself in other people's homes, I am of the strong opinion that even DOn would feel you would make a lovely addition to his party. I think everyone who is free tonight should take a few moments out just to stop by and say hello. And if not, email Don a nice note and thank him for the invite. Or stop by and bring him a bottle of his favorite wine. Wow, I HAVE turned into my mother! I know how stressful it is to open your home for parties for people you KNOW much less almost or complete strangers. And with that, I am off my hostess with the mostess soapbox. Now, who's ready to party??? (In a non kegger manner)

at 10/25/2002 11:03:42 AM- Oh and one more thing. The party starts at 7pm. Even if you have to wake up early the next day, you can have at least three to four hours of party time and still get a good night's sleep. You won't get to drink until your eyes cross, but it's not that kind of party anyway. So phhht. No excuses! I just won't accept them! Wow, look at me. It isn't even my party. I will shut up now.

at 10/25/2002 11:38:21 AM- i will not be in attendance. i probably could muster the energy to go, but having a cold and having a job that requires absolute sterility is not a good mix. i don't even smoke during the day at work. anyway, gotta kick the cold.
it's a shame, too. because i was going to get my orange bedsheet. and i was going to be the dhalai lama. and i was going to go up to people and introduce myself as, "hi. i'm the dhalai lama. but you can call me D."
maybe i will buy an orange bed sheet anyway. because i think it would be great to do that on the Loop at a time of year when it is not halloween.

at 10/25/2002 2:37:48 PM- Um, guys, this party is also for my many other friends. There will be about 25+ in attendance. Anyone that thinks they will have a good time is invited. If you have not met me, tonight would be a good chance to. Come along...if only for a few hours.
Like I said, however, there will be a rather large, diverse group of folks there...many new faces to meet.

at 10/25/2002 2:38:47 PM- Ok I will go polish my boots. There is a lot of boot to polish. Then I have to untangle some chains. There are a lot of chains to untangle. The best part about wearing a wig is that I don't have to do my hair. Can I start getting excited yet? Can I get a woohoo? HAlloween fun? WOOHOO?

at 10/25/2002 2:49:58 PM- nope, the invite was the same for everyone. and i have persuaded everyone who RSVP'd that costumes are required or that you would 'be the minority and an outcast' if you chose not to wear one. you guys are far to worried...it will be a costume-filled evening :)

at 10/25/2002 3:34:37 PM- Well, during our money crunch time, I was FORCED to buy $5 dollar face cream instead of the $40 cream I usually use. Oh it was just TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE I TELL YOU! I threw the biggest fit. No, actually I am really good about money. When we can afford the niceies, I get nice stuff. BUt this summer, we were very po' from supporting two households. I am going to trot my happy ass over to Galleria and get the stuff that doesn't cause my lips to go numb, sometime this weekend. That should not happen with face cream. Ok, just polished my boots and got shoe polish all over my hands, face, clothes, and the floor. Matt needs to come home soon before I destroy the house.

I am bringing a date, and finger sandwiches, AND I'll be in costume. What is everybody else bringing? Mae and Matt, waht time will you be there? Please say early if you want to meet my girlfriend.
