Just curious as who who is going, and what you will be wearing? Do you have your costume yet? The invitation says to bring food and drink. Will you be bringing any special party foods you are famous for?
Submitted by asoon at 10/18/2002 1:04:34 PM
I'm going! Don dropped me an email before he left, all STLBLOGGERS are invited.

I never know what to bring to pot luck style parties. We usually bring cups or plates.
Submitted by cybrpunk at 10/18/2002 1:48:29 PM
I'm famous for bringing pizza rolls.

I'm afraid I'll be out of town. But I'll be there in spirit.

hehehe, get it? Spirit? Like a ghost...

    *sigh*

We will take lots of pics for you, Drew. Hey, did you get my email regarding voice overs?
Submitted by drew at 10/18/2002 2:15:05 PM
Not yet. Did you email me at WildRanma58@hotmail.com ?
Submitted by christy at 10/18/2002 2:30:14 PM
I'm famous for meatloaf and pasta salad.

And, yes, minus a few details, my costume is in order and I'm not saying. Surprise is everything.
Submitted by maemidwest at 10/18/2002 2:42:15 PM
Drew, yes I did, the day you wrote to me. Hmm.. let me see if I still have a copy and will re-send. You probably thought I had blown you off! It's a detailed letter about voice overs and the biz. I hope it helps!

Drew, I think I figured out the problem. My email lists my real name, and you may have seen it and deleted it, not knowing who that girl was. Mae is not my real name. It is a nickname, and most people call me Mae, anyway. I don't use my real name online. I just had to explain this to Cybr, who was also wondering who the hell I really was. Just to make things worse, my real name has a nickname, and people also call me by my car's nickname. I have two last names. And my real name is actually my stage name that I legally changed many years ago. Before that, I had a completely different first, middle, and last name, which had another full set of nicknames. Whew! See why people just call me Mae? Matt, thankfully, is just Matt. Oh wait, he can also be Matthew, but only when he's in trouble. I have a serious identity crisis going on here.

It's much easier on me: I just say "Yes dear". None of this remembering names nonsense.
Submitted by Wifey Poo at 10/18/2002 3:25:14 PM
I promise to never call you, "Boopee" again in public. I have no idea where that one came from. hahahaha. Sorry, honey!
Submitted by MMW at 10/18/2002 3:26:14 PM
I know on Don's invite is says, "costumes encouraged but not mandatory" but Angeline and I have decided that if you don't wear a costume, we will hurt you.
Submitted by asoon at 10/18/2002 3:42:32 PM
Unless you're a sucker for pain, then we'll find some other way to 'turtore' you...

    COSTUME REQUIRED!

    -----------------------------

On a seperate note, what would be a good type of finger food to bring? you think it's okay to bring a bucketfull of wings from hooters?
Submitted by asoon at 10/18/2002 3:42:51 PM
torture. blah. can't spell on a friday.
Submitted by maemidwest at 10/18/2002 4:06:10 PM
I thought you were going to ask if it was ok to bring a bucket full of fingers, lol! I am not a big fan of Hooters wings. My wings didn't come with sauce. The hayseed behind the counter insisted they don't have sauce on their wings. I'm sorry, but chicks in tight shorts may be enough of a reason for some of you to go to Hooters, but for me, gimme sauce on my wings and plenty of it. So Angeline, if you bring wings, how about wings from Culpeppers? They are saucy, very saucy!
Submitted by asoon at 10/18/2002 4:10:38 PM
Haha. I happened to like non-saucy fried wings. Loved BW3 when I was in college. I like their teriyaki / honey mustard wings, not drippy, not dry, just nice.

A college town is usually the best place to find good wings.

i wish i could go, but i will be in kirksville, and drew will be with me... but we will be dressed as cowboys/cowgirls for my date party!
Submitted by drew at 10/18/2002 5:16:31 PM
Wings from hooters would rock Angeline. Not that I'll be there to enjoy them...

Mae: the chicks in tight shorts aren't always that great either...

I like using the elipse "..."

    What's an elipse?

YES! My costume is almost complete! Just one final trip to Home Depot and I'm set. WOOO, this thrills me more than anyone even realizes. This means my costume will have come from Johnny Brock's, Frederick's of Hollywood, Walmart,The Crypt (bondage store in Denver) and Home Depot. Niiiice.

We found the perfect treat to bring to the party. "Scary Cakes." They have "scream filling". I wonder if scream filling is a flavor zone?

Submitted by DonK at 10/20/2002 7:17:09 AM
costumes are a must! do not be a party pooper. see you guys on friday!!!
Submitted by DonK at 10/20/2002 7:19:16 AM
oh, and yes, just bring something small. i do need paper plates and cups and other items of similar nature. as i will be out of the country up until the last minute, any help is appreciated. feel free to bring your favorite dish, or a bag of chips, or a bottle of soda. anything will do.
Submitted by asoon at 10/21/2002 11:12:41 AM
I bought some paper plates and napkins over the weekend. It's probably not enough for the entire party but I'm expecting somebody else to bring them too.

I've narrow my food choices to the following three: Chips w/ Artichoke Spinach Dip; Toasted Raviolis, or Chicken Wings.
Submitted by cybrpunk at 10/21/2002 12:56:58 PM
Maybe fries. Everyone likes fries. I can stop my McCrap and pick up a few buckets of fries.
Submitted by asoon at 10/21/2002 12:59:06 PM
Just imagine, by the time you get to Don's, it'll be soggy fries instead of crispy fries.
Submitted by cybrpunk at 10/21/2002 1:00:37 PM
but fries. they will still be fries. besides they are always soggy.
Submitted by bumr at 10/21/2002 1:11:34 PM
doh. looks like tempe and i probably won't make it. step-mother coming into town from seattle for a visit this weekend...

Submitted by maemidwest at 10/21/2002 1:36:51 PM
Freddy and Mrs Ferret will be coming to the party as well as Bruce and Date of Bruce.
Submitted by freddyferret at 10/21/2002 2:56:37 PM
I think I'll bring a bunch of White Castles.

Or maybe some spam and spray cheese sammiches, yum.
Submitted by maemidwest at 10/21/2002 3:01:51 PM
Spray cheese is always a hit at parties. And you cannot go wrong with White Castles. Spam? Hmm. We ARE internet addicts, so perhaps spam is a bad idea. ;)
Submitted by drew at 10/21/2002 3:03:07 PM
you can go very wrong with white castles. i believe we discussed this on friday.

    very very wrong.
Submitted by freddyferret at 10/21/2002 3:06:10 PM
I missed most of the conversation on Friday because we got there so late. But I think White Castles are a basic food group.
Submitted by cybrpunk at 10/21/2002 3:45:50 PM
White Castles are a delicacy that most people prefer I enjoy alone.

I'm also having a pinging issue -- when I ping (and I use firefox) I have to log in, ping, go to the main page, log in again, and ping again.

market at mcknight is mostly empty. don't imagine that's going to change anytime soon with the current economy. they should have left the neighborhood there.

Before the outage, I never had to re-login from the computers I use most often. I don't think I entered a password for months. Now I have to login everytime before I can ping. Maybe its a different symptom of the same issue?

Ever since that "mostly dead" incident, I have to log out then log back in every time I want to ping. Is this happening to anyone else, or just me?
